Web cam un install problems?

Having tried to load an older webcam onto a vista pc no good, un installed it now i am left with a message each time i turn on my computer telling me its not working properly, how can i get rid of this pesky thing? have tried all the obvious but just can't get rid of it. Supplier is Vimicro and their web site has no suggestions. I just know there is a footprint (folder) somewhere on my pc but as of yet can not find it to delete it. I am not a novice so please only sensable answers and skip all the obvious ones thank you
