Out of state kid considering University of Louisville?

I'm on the college search as a high school senior and forever I've dreamed of going to the University of Louisville due to its distance from my home (Ohio) and the big school atmosphere with the athletics and just overall size. The more people I talk to though have told me that Louisville is a majority commuter school and many of the students live in Louisville and live at home and it is just hard to make new friends if you are from out of town. Was hoping to get a first hand account or see fi anyone knew what it is really like.
