Do i have ear damage or am i congested or something?

i have this problem with my right ear. it started a while back (maybe a few weeks). at random times, it make crackle. it sounds like the wind blowing almost. its very weird and annoying. im scared that my hearing is damaged. i have a hard time hearing already. and this problem started after i did some loud stapling on picket fences. please help. im already planning to schedule a docs appt.
