If the Human Race ever became extinct, which species would replace us?

If we were wiped of the face of the earth, every single one of us, by asteroid, Global Warmng etc, what kind of new life could be generated on Earth to replace us, like we replaced the mammouths, Dinosaurs or is it not possible. Could Aliens from outta space take our place?
