The Good Student Movie--why does Mr. Gibb kindap Ally (Hayden Pennetierre)?

I watched the movie and i am so confused. Why does he kidnap her. I know hes infatuated with her but he returns her and at the end he says the end justify the means. He was also obssesed with Abraham Lincoln and his life.
